Valdez Heli-Ski Guides operates from two lodges on the Richardson Highway in the Chugach Mountains, atop legendary Thompson Pass. The Tsaina Lodge sits at Milepost 35, about 35 miles north of Valdez, and the Alaska Rendezvous Lodge is ten miles further up the pass at Milepost 45.
Getting here is part of the adventure. Most guests fly into Anchorage, then make the roughly 300-mile drive to Thompson Pass - north through Palmer and Glennallen, then south on the Richardson Highway - widely considered one of the most scenic drives in North America. The easiest way is a rental car or our guest shuttle straight to the lodge - the highway runs right past both of them.
